Michael Zauchin

Mr. Michael Zauchin is in his 11th year of teaching choral music at Oak Mountain High School, where he directs all the choral ensembles on campus which include highly ranked concert and show choirs.  Michael is a native of Birmingham, Alabama.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Choral Music Education from The University of Alabama.  While at UA, he founded and directed Resonance, the first show choir on the university’s campus.  Prior to coming to Oak Mountain, Mr. Zauchin taught choral music and was the musical director for community shows at the Strand Theatre in Marietta, Georgia.  
 
Michael is a member of the Alabama Vocal Association, the National Association for Music Educators, and the American Choral Directors Association where he serves on the Alabama ACDA State Board.  He also serves as the Junior Class Sponsor and the Performing Arts Center Director at Oak Mountain High School.  Michael has served as a show choir consultant since 2008 for multiple programs around the state of Alabama including Spain Park High School, Vestavia Hills High School, Jasper High School, Jackson Preparatory School, Hoover High School, Eufaula High School, Bumpus Middle School and Berry Middle School. 
 
Outside of teaching, Mr. Zauchin has two fur children, Petey and Oliver, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. 

Caroline Stewart

Ms. Caroline Stewart is a Birmingham, Alabama native and an Oak Mountain alumna. Prior to joining the Oak Mountain team, Ms. Stewart taught elementary music for two years at Jackson Academy in Jackson, Mississippi. At JA, she taught general music classes and directed and produced five grade-level musical performances each year. She also led monthly worship for the Lower School chapel, organizing speakers, teaching songs, and coordinating technology needs. 

Caroline is a cum laude graduate of Mississippi College and holds a bachelor’s degree in Choral Music Education. While at MC, she was a member of the Mississippi College Singers, the premier choral ensemble at Mississippi College, and she participated in multiple stage productions in the music department. She also served as the Vice President of Kissimee Social Tribe and was a member of the MC Scouts as a student recruiter. Ms. Stewart is a current member of the National Association for Music Educators. In addition to her classroom experience, Caroline served as a college music intern and worship leader at Grace City Church in Jackson, MS for five years. She also worked for Summer Show-Offs as a Head Counselor for two years.

Outside of teaching, Ms. Stewart enjoys baking and decorating cakes; playing piano and guitar;  and finding local eateries and antique shops to visit with her friends.
